Ty's Take
June 25th marks seventy-three years since the guns started up on the Korean peninsula—a war that didn't make the evening news the way it should have, that pulled boys from places like this one across an ocean most of them had never crossed, and sent some home changed and some home in boxes. It's easy to let a Tuesday editorial space slip into something lighter when the week runs quiet and the obits pile up like they do in early summer, but that's exactly the day not to look away. This county sent its share. Some of the names we're running today were neighbors, family men, church people who lived full lives after that war ended. Some didn't make it that far. The history column reminds us why we remember.
