Ty's Take
There's something worth watching in that Walmart-Amazon race to speed up deliveries out here—because the real winner isn't going to be whichever company cuts a few days off shipping times, it's going to be whoever figures out that rural Missouri doesn't need faster versions of what we've always gotten from distant warehouses. We've got Ozarks Regional Stockyards doing what it does, we've got local shops and service businesses and people like Christen Weaver coming up through our medical system, and we've got farmers and families who understand that some things are still worth the drive to town or the wait for something made right. The convenience economy works fine for what it works for, but don't mistake speed for strength.
