Ty's Take

Not much shaking in the news today, which this time of year usually means everybody's either out in the fields or sitting in a dark theater trying to escape the heat. June in the Valley's like that—the chile's coming in, the pecan orchards are thick and green, and the mercury's already telling you to find shade. So maybe tonight's the night you finally catch up on what's streaming, or drag the family to something at the Mesilla Valley Film Festival if they've got something worth watching. Either way, slow news days remind you that a town's doing just fine when there's nothing urgent to report and everybody's got something to do.
