Ty's Take

A wrong-way driver on I-10 killed someone this week, and now there's a homicide charge on the books—the kind of tragedy that hits different in a town like ours where everybody's either related to somebody or knows somebody who knows them. But while we're dealing with that heaviness, it's worth noting what else is happening: the animal rescue folks are getting help with spay-and-neuter work through that DAGSHIP grant, fire season's ramping up and we need folks to know how to report it fast, and the water park's opening for the summer. Life keeps moving in Deming. We grieve the dead, we take care of the living, and we try to do better than we did yesterday.
