Ty's Take
May's shaping up to be one of those months where Deming remembers who it is—Old West Heritage Days coming to the fairgrounds, the arts center filling up, a scholarship benefit that'll take us back to the 80s, and now pickleball courts going in at Hooten Park like we're finally getting around to the things we've been talking about for years. Meanwhile the city council's asking folks to show up and actually say something about the school budget instead of complaining about it later, which is fair enough, and there's graduation coming at Early College, so somebody's getting out ahead. It's the kind of week that reminds you small towns move slow but they do move, and half the time all we need is an excuse to gather somewhere and remember we're still here.
