The commission approved rate increases this week, which nobody loves but everybody understands, and they found money in the budget for roads that have needed attention longer than most of us care to remember. Meanwhile the new police building is getting outfitted by an El Paso firm, a reminder that good projects take time and a lot of moving parts. On a lighter note, the seniors are marking the threshold of their final year together, Atlas Accounting hung out a shingle downtown, and the Community Market had vendors out at the FOE lodge doing what T-or-C does best: bringing the pieces together. Nothing flashy this week, but the kind of steady work that keeps a town functioning.
