The dam keeps breaking, the mine keeps talking, and now somebody new owns the voting machines, but nobody around here seems quite sure what any of it means yet. That's not complaint, just observation. Water's the real story underneath all three, if you squint at it right. Copper Flat wants to dig it up and filter tailings back into the ground where it came from, Liberty Vote gets to count the ballots while we argue about it, and Elephant Butte keeps reminding us that dams fail and rivers don't ask permission. These waters have always moved faster than our ability to manage them, and some weeks that shows up in the headlines clearer than others.
