Ty's Take

Grant County kept its head yesterday when the sky turned ugly and the warnings came down, and so far we're counting that as a win. Tornado season doesn't care much about what we want out here, but yesterday's storms moved through without the worst of it landing here, which is the kind of luck you don't take for granted in open country like this. Meanwhile, the county commissioners drew a line on data centers, the town brought in new management, and somebody down in Deming is hoping cold fronts show up faster than expected to fight back a screwworm problem that doesn't respect county lines. It's the kind of day where Silver City handles a half-dozen things that matter in the span of a few hours, and most folks won't notice half of them happened.
