Ty's Take
We've gotten used to bear activity shutting things down around here—it's the price of living where we live—but having to close school buildings hits different. Bridger Elementary and the high school both locked their doors this week because of persistent bear presence, and you can talk all you want about coexistence and habitat and the natural order, but when it means your kids aren't in classrooms and teachers are scrambling, the reality gets personal fast. These aren't distant wilderness problems anymore; they're in the parking lots and around the edges of town where families live. We built our community in bear country and we knew that going in, but knowing something and dealing with it when the school bus can't run are two different things.
