Ty's Take
There's something about a Thursday in late April when the town starts moving again, and you see it all at once—the dance academy kids limbering up for their Broadway show, runners signing up for the Supermom 5K, folks actually showing up to free health talks instead of just meaning to. Pagosa's been that way since the snow started melting: people come back out. After a winter of wood stove smoke and short daylight, there's an appetite for gathering, for watching the next generation perform, for getting outside before summer heat settles in. These aren't flashy events, but they're the sinew of a place where people still know their neighbors and show up when someone needs them. That matters more than it sounds like it does.
