Ty's Take
Three good men from this valley are gone this week—Shannyn Caldwell, Timothy Joseph Hourigan, and George Douglas Jackson, seventy. The obits don't always tell you much about a place, but Las Cruces knows what it's losing when names like these disappear from the roster. This is the work of a small-town paper, really—marking the ones who stayed, who built something, who showed up on a Tuesday. The Mesilla Valley keeps moving forward, but it moves a little lighter when it does.
