Two people dead on these roads in as many days, both on motorcycles, and now we've got a third rider who decided running from police on Bagnell Dam Boulevard was worth the risk. The boat show's back this weekend, the hotel brands are circling, condos are moving slower than the real estate folks would like, and the recycling center story shows what happens when a community figures out how to do right by people who've been left out of the equation. But those three motorcycle crashes are the thing that sticks. Fall's a beautiful time at the lake, and people come down looking for speed and freedom and maybe a little escape from wherever they came from. Problem is, these roads don't forgive the mistakes you make while you're looking for it.
