Ty's Take
A black bear nosing through a Domino's dumpster and a guy pulling a mushroom the size of a dinner plate out of the woods—that's the Lake this week in a nutshell, equal parts tourism brochure and real life happening in the margins. Meanwhile the casino push fell short on signatures, the schools are running their business, and folks are out hunting, boating, and raising money for kids who need it. Summer's coming on hard, which means the water gets busier and the stakes get higher, so maybe keep one eye on that boat rental and another on what's actually in the lake. This place has always been about knowing how to navigate what's beautiful and what's dangerous, sometimes at the same time.
