Ty's Take
We've had two people in positions of trust around kids arrested in the last few days—a school resource officer and now a teacher—and that's the kind of news that lands different in a town like this where everybody knows everybody and your kids' safety depends on recognizing who belongs near them. The charges are serious enough that convictions came quick, which is something, but it doesn't undo the damage or answer the harder question about what we missed while these people were still showing up to work. This isn't about hysteria or witch hunts; it's about the fact that the places we trust most deserve the closest watching, and maybe this week's headlines are a reminder that good intentions aren't enough.
