Ty's Take
David Cope spent his years in Texas County the way a lot of good men do around here, showing up to work and showing up for people, and now folks are left with that particular quiet that comes when someone who was just part of the landscape is suddenly gone. The Herald's death notice doesn't say much, but in a county this size that's usually because everybody already knows the story, or at least the parts that matter. Obituaries in small towns are funny that way, sparse on details but heavy with weight, and this one's no different. If you knew David, you're thinking about him today. If you didn't, well, you probably knew somebody who did, and that's close enough in Houston.
