Ty's Take
That wrong-way crash on I-10 is the kind of story that stops you cold—one person dead, another facing homicide charges, and somewhere in between a series of choices that can't be unmade. We've all seen the highway safety campaigns, heard the warnings about impaired driving, watched the statistics climb every summer when the heat brings out the worst in people. But statistics don't mean much until they're somebody's husband or wife or friend, until their car is twisted metal on the interstate and their name is in the paper under circumstances nobody wanted to see. The road between here and Las Cruces has seen too many of these. Maybe this one hits different. Maybe this one finally makes somebody think twice.
