Primary day came and went in Conejos County, which means the real sorting starts now. Preliminary numbers are in, but anybody who's watched elections around here knows this valley doesn't settle easy or fast, and the work of counting and recounting touches on something deeper than just tallying votes. At the same time, the Forest Service is headed to Del Norte next month to talk winter recreation plans on the Rio Grande National Forest, and up in La Sierra, that fence dispute finally has some wildlife study data to work with.
