Ty's Take
The Stillhouse Junkies coming back to Society Hall is the kind of thing that reminds you why small towns survive—somebody's got to keep the doors open and the music coming, and when a local band figures that out, everybody benefits. But what caught me this week was the real stuff underneath: a parent talking about how sick kids get sick fast down here, how distance to a real hospital matters, and a whole push around youth mental health that's finally treating teenage struggles like what they actually are, not something to tough out between hay bales. That's the valley we're living in now—still rooted in the old ways, still dependent on what we grow and raise, but waking up to the fact that our kids need more than a strong back and a willing spirit to make it through. The music helps with that too, I reckon.
