Ty's Take

A coach trusted with young athletes has now got serious charges hanging over him, the kind that shake whatever confidence folks around here have left in institutions that are supposed to protect kids. It's hard to know what to say about a morning like this except that the arrest itself is only the start of what West Plains will have to reckon with, because a town this size knows everybody, and everybody knows what was supposed to matter most. The case will work through the courts, but the hurt it leaves in its wake doesn't follow a legal calendar. There's not much good news in a headline like this one, just the grim work of accountability that has to happen anyway.
