Ty's Take
Nine years is a long time for anybody to run, and Douglas County law enforcement finally caught up with a woman who'd been wanted all that time. It's the kind of story that reminds you how small these communities really are, how hard it is to stay disappeared when everybody knows everybody else's business. On a lighter note, the downtown banners going up around West Plains are worth noticing, too. Small touches like that matter more than folks realize when a town's trying to hold its own as a regional center. The back-to-school kickoff and the blood drive coming up show this community still knows how to pull together when it counts.
