Ty's Take
School's coming hard and fast, and around here that means the usual scramble to get kids ready. The good news is the community's stepping up the way it always does, collecting supplies for families who can't quite make the stretch to cover everything on the list. Meanwhile, the Chamber's got folks sharpening their leadership skills through a statewide program, which matters because West Plains serves as the commercial hub for a whole region. City Council's got a public hearing Monday night if you've got business to settle. A crash near Dora sent four people to the hospital, and law enforcement's still working a serious case involving a Norwood man. It's the kind of week where you see both sides of a small community at once: neighbors helping neighbors get their kids ready for September, and the darker problems that don't wait for the school calendar.
