Ty's Take
Hannah Harper making it to the American Idol finale is the kind of thing that reminds you why small towns matter—somebody's kid from around here gets on that national stage, and the whole region leans in to watch. You don't have to dig deep to find the grit in that story; it's right there in the fact that it took real work to get noticed when you're singing from the Ozarks, not Los Angeles or Nashville or one of those places where the industry already knows your name. West Plains has sent plenty of talent out into the world over the years, and most of it comes back home eventually—either in person or in the pride people carry for what their neighbors accomplished. That's worth paying attention to this week.
