The county commissioners just threw the brakes on a data center at Spaceport America, and it's worth asking whether that's about protecting the future or fighting it. A moratorium makes sense if the proposal was half-baked, but around here the real debate is always underneath: what kind of economic engine do we actually want, and what does it cost in water, power, and the land itself? We've got Spaceport trying to build something nobody's ever built here before, we've got folks holding the county accountable when things smell wrong, and we've got commissioners willing to pump the brakes. That's how you're supposed to do it, even if nobody ends up entirely happy.
