Ty's Take
You know the old saying about how you can't control the weather, only prepare for it. Well, Mother Nature didn't get that memo, and the folks around here are spending their late summer doing what they always do when the wind kicks up and the dust starts flying: boarding up, battening down, and hoping the next gust doesn't take something with it. Meanwhile, Arrey Elementary's got kids and families lined up for watermelon and an open house, which tells you something about this community right there. We've got enough grit to keep our schools running, our children fed, and our sense of normal intact even when the sky's decided to throw a fit. And down the road, that water tank project for We Are Tigers is moving forward again, which matters more than most folks outside Sierra County might think. In a place where water and wind define what gets built and what gets blown away, you keep your head down, show up for your kids, and trust that the next day will give you another chance.
