Ty's Take
When the monsoon season hits the Mimbres drainage hard enough to trigger flash flood warnings, it's a reminder that this country doesn't care much about our municipal headaches. The solid waste questions hanging over the county commission can wait until the water stops moving topsoil and threatening the folks around Lake Roberts. Silver City's been through enough water events in recent years to know that nature settles arguments with indifference. Right now somebody's probably checking on cabins up there, and the county's probably scrambling to make sure nobody's caught in a canyon when the next cell moves through. The real work starts after the rain stops and the commissioners have to face what didn't wash away.
