Ty's Take

Governor showing up for WNMU's commencement in 2026 is the kind of thing that looks good in the ceremony program, but what really matters is whether she's paying attention to what her administration's doing down here—like that pipeline proposal working its way through southern Grant County while we're all supposed to be thinking about higher education and economic opportunity. This town's always been caught between two futures, and some days it feels like Santa Fe's more interested in cutting ribbon than asking hard questions about what kind of economy we're actually building. The students graduating in two years deserve to know the answer to that before they decide whether to stay.
