Ty's Take

The SteamPlant's got dog races lined up for Oktoberfest, which is either the best idea anybody's had all year or proof that we've finally lost our minds from too much sun and river water, and honestly it could go either way. Meanwhile the valley's wrestling with harder questions, the kind that don't resolve between now and Saturday when No Kings comes back through to remind folks what voting actually means. On the lighter side, one of ours took the national civics bee, and our Spartans keep winning soccer games, which at least tells you some kids are paying attention to how things work. The snowpack question hanging over everything else is whether this super El Niño delivers what the models promise, because around here, water is never just weather.
