Ty's Take
Three different surveys are circulating around town right now, each asking what matters most to Salida and Chaffee County. The candidates forum up in Buena Vista this Thursday will tell you what politicians think you care about. The community priorities survey wants to hear straight from you. And the transit study is essentially asking whether you'd ride the bus if it went somewhere you needed to go, because transportation just got named as our biggest source of greenhouse gas emissions, which is a hell of a way to find out that getting around here is part of the problem. You've got twelve days left to weigh in on the priorities survey at the pop-up events. Skip it if you want, but don't be surprised when decisions get made without your voice in the room.
