Ty's Take

Soulcraft Brewing's bankruptcy filing landed like a winter storm nobody saw coming, the kind that reminds you how fast things can change in a small town economy. The brewery's been part of the downtown fabric for years now, one of the places that helped turn our historic district into something people actually wanted to visit again, and word that they're restructuring under Chapter 11 will hit different depending on who you ask. Management says operations continue uninterrupted, which matters because these businesses don't just sell beer, they sell stability and jobs in a valley where both feel harder to come by every season. We've watched enough Front Range money remake this town to know that what looks solid one day can shift underneath you the next. Here's hoping Soulcraft finds its footing again, because Salida's got enough ghosts already without adding empty storefronts to the list.
