Ty's Take
Charles Dozois spent most of his life in this valley, which in a place this size means he was woven into the fabric so thoroughly most people didn't notice until he was gone. The Zig Zag Wanderers will play the Harley shop on Friday night and draw a crowd the way live music does here, loud and loose and full of people looking for something to do besides scroll their phones. And Sunrise Rotary is opening scholarship applications, the kind of quiet work that happens every year without fanfare, year after year, the town taking care of its own. This is what a small community actually runs on, most of the time, and most of the time it doesn't make the front page until someone dies or something loud enough happens to notice.
