Ty's Take
The housing shuffle between Salida and Buena Vista this week looks like problem-solving until you sit with it a minute. Two river towns that ought to be figuring out how to build their way out of this mess are instead trading credits like poker chips, trying to meet state requirements that were supposed to force action on affordability. Nobody's putting up new units that don't cost half a teacher's salary. Instead we're moving promises around the table and calling it progress. The Collegiate Peaks don't care about our accounting. The Arkansas does. And neither one stops the fact that young families can't stay here anymore.
