Ty's Take

The SEC-barred accountant buying up Deer Valley Ranch cabins through Wyoming shell companies and renting them out is the kind of story that lands different depending on which side of the growth argument you're on. Some folks will see it as proof the valley's been discovered by exactly the wrong kind of money, the kind that hides behind legal structures and doesn't much care what local rules say. Others might shrug and call it capitalism. Either way, it's a reminder that when property gets scarce and prices climb fast, the sharks start circling, and sometimes they wear suits and have very good lawyers. The fact that he's barred from securities work but figured he could work the rental market anyway says something about how scattered our oversight gets when everything's changing at once.
