Ty's Take
A Supreme Court decision lands today, the community gathers around a dinner table Saturday night, and a young man is keeping his brother's dream alive at Monarch Pass. Not much ties those three things together on the surface, except they're all about the same thing: what we do when we're forced to choose between the easy path and the one that actually matters. The dinner table's the obvious one, the kind of place where people who don't naturally agree still manage to listen. But it's worth noting that voting, remembering your brother's passion for snowmobiling, and paying attention to what the high court does all require the same basic choice. They all demand that we show up. Around here we've got plenty of people who show up, and plenty more discovering that living in this valley means you don't get to coast anymore.
