Ty's Take
Slow week up the valley, which around here usually means folks are either on the river, at the Brewers Rendezvous, or fielding calls from Front Range money asking what the asking price is on their grandmother's ranch. The reunion crowd and the pig-catching folks and the live-art crowd all prove the same thing we already know: Salida runs on community and seasons, and August is when people actually show up to be part of it. Housing prices keep climbing because everybody wants in on what we've got, but you can't bottle the feeling of a half-century reunion or a brewery festival. You can only show up.
