Ty's Take
The hospital board posted solid numbers for July, which matters more than it sounds, because when HRRMC runs tight you can feel it all the way through the valley, from the waiting rooms to the payroll. Hard to attract and keep good people if the place that keeps folks alive is perpetually underwater. Meanwhile the school district up in Buena Vista is already shifting into back-to-school mode with classes starting late August, the calendar moving along like it does every year, indifferent to whether the rest of us feel ready. That's the rhythm we live by up here: the river flows, the seasons turn, and the kids go back whether we think we've got it figured out or not.
