The water situation keeps tightening around here, and now it's got Ben Oswald Park shut down until further notice. Losing a soccer field to drought is the kind of thing that sounds abstract until you're a kid who can't practice, or a parent looking for a place to run around on a Tuesday evening. The Arkansas has been good to this town, built us up, but it's also a river that's got a thousand claims on it before it gets here, and even more waiting downstream. Fire restrictions are easing up in the high country, which is something, but that doesn't change what we're not getting from above. This is the new math we're all learning to do.
