Ty's Take

There's something worth noticing in the way this week's good news all points the same direction. A botanist out here cataloging what grows in our corner of the Ozarks, a couple of locals getting their names on a plaque in Jefferson City, and a Hall of Famer saying he's glad he stayed put in Rolla. That's not coincidence. This town and this county have a way of drawing people who care enough about something, whether it's plants or athletics or just the place itself, to stick around and get serious about it. Most small towns lose that kind of commitment to the work and the place both. We haven't yet.
