Ty's Take

Lanning Lane's going to be tore up for a while, which if you've lived here long enough means you've seen this dance before. The county figures it needs the work, and fair enough, that stretch has taken a beating from winters and traffic that's only gotten heavier since S&T kept growing. Thing is, anybody cutting through town to avoid the interstate or heading down toward the Mark Twain National Forest is going to feel it in their commute, and the shops along that corridor will too. It's necessary work, always is, but it's the kind of thing that reminds you a small town runs on roads that are always being borrowed against. Just get it done before the float season really cranks up.
