Ty's Take
Storm sewer work starting Monday on Rolla Street means the next few weeks are going to be a little rougher getting through the heart of town, but it's the kind of work that doesn't show itself until it fails, and then it fails in somebody's basement or under somebody's yard during a hard rain. County crews have been planning this one for a while, and August being here means the primary's coming fast, which is probably why the GOP decided now was the time to sit down the county candidates and let voters get a look at who's running what. This is what August looks like around here: the machinery of county government turning over, the streets tearing up for the long haul, and folks starting to pay attention to who's asking for their vote. It's the working end of summer.
