Ty's Take

There's something worth noticing in what's happening around town this week, and it doesn't require much reading between the lines. Free college application days landing right here, a school pushing hard on reading and literacy, an Oktoberfest that'll draw families together, and reminders to get your flu shot so the whole community stays healthy. These aren't random announcements. They're the bones of what keeps a town like this standing, what separates places that grow from places that fade. Our kids get encouraged toward futures beyond the county line, we keep each other well, we read and think and know things, we show up for each other when it matters. Sounds simple when you list it out like that. Most days it's harder than it sounds.
