Ty's Take
Our medical center is in trouble, and everybody here knows it. The finances are real, the staffing shortages are real, and no amount of community spirit circles or inspirational living events changes the fact that Pagosa Springs Medical Center is the kind of essential service that dies quietly if we're not paying attention to the machinery underneath. Part One of the Daily Post's series on this isn't cheerleading, and that matters. The hard questions about sustainability, about what we're actually willing to fund and how, about whether a town this size can support a full-service hospital in the modern economy, those aren't comfortable conversations. But they're the ones that matter right now.
