Ty's Take
That river running high last week reminded us why water moves everything around here, and not just the San Juan when it swells past its banks. PAWSD's looking at rate increases and budget cuts to plug a hole that won't appear until 2027, which is the kind of long-view planning that usually means someone's already worried about short supply. Add in the reconstruction work on 160, the back and forth over Country Center Drive access, and the electricity bills that'll come when those balloons need somewhere to land, and you start to see the real conversation this town needs to have before the next drought hits or the next fire closes us in. Voting starts October 5th, so maybe we elect people ready to talk about it straight.
