Ty's Take

This week's calendar reads like September itself, that month when a mountain town remembers it's actually a community and not just a staging ground for tourists. End of Life Education offering fall meetings, Peace Walk coming up on the 12th, Curtains Up holding auditions for "Honk!" on the 17th and 18th, Kids Kare starting back for the youngest ones. Even the Photography Club's planning a Costa Rica trip together. It's the kind of week that reminds you why people choose to live here year-round, why they raise their kids here, why they stick around when the leaf-peepers leave and winter starts knocking. The planning commission's got developments to chew on, the school bond's still drawing debate, and somebody spotted another interesting bird. Normal work. Normal life. Nothing wrong with that.
