The town's got a lot on its mind these days, and you can see it in the mix of what people are actually talking about. There's the stuff that matters in hard practical ways, like whether the sewer system needs work or if the county's going to keep footing legal bills for its own officials. Then there's the wider world pressing in on us, all those climate and election stories that feel urgent but also distant when you're standing here in the high country trying to figure out water rights and wildfire seasons. Good thing we've still got folks who show up for a documentary screening to help the kids, and actors willing to get weird on stage at the Rep. That's the real glue, the stuff that reminds you why you stay.
