Six months to figure out whether data centers belong in Archuleta County sounds reasonable until you realize what's really happening underneath. The town and county just pumped the brakes on server farms and crypto operations, which means somebody's been sniffing around about putting that kind of infrastructure here, and nobody's thrilled about it. You can understand why. We've got fire risk that keeps getting worse, water that's already spoken for by senior rights and resort needs, and an electrical grid that's not built for that load. The moratorium gives folks time to think straight instead of reacting to whoever's got the deepest pockets. Around here, that's not a luxury. That's survival.
