Lifting Stage 2 fire restrictions down to Stage 1 is good news if you've got a grill you've been missing or a burn pile stacking up in the back forty, but it's the kind of decision that sits different when you're living in country that burned like ours did. The San Juans have been good to us this summer on moisture, and nobody wants to see restrictions tighter than they have to be, but the speed between "we're worried" and "we're not" can fool you fast. Worth keeping an eye on those monsoon patterns as we head into August, and maybe not getting too comfortable yet. Weather out here changes its mind about as often as the wind does.
