Ty's Take
Highway 160 through town is about to get ugly for a while, which means the next few months are going to sort out who's patient and who isn't—and maybe tell us something about what we've become. Construction that tears up your main artery always does that. You'll see the second-home crowd divert through the back roads or skip town altogether, the locals white-knuckling it through town to get to work, and the tourists scratching their heads about why the GPS brought them here. That's the short view. The longer one is that we can't dodge infrastructure forever, and the people who run this town know it. Hope they're building something that lasts, because the next crew in here won't be happy to come back and do it again.
