Ty's Take
Water's tight again, which shouldn't surprise anybody who's watched the drought creep in year after year, but the Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District numbers are worth sitting with—especially if you're thinking about that new landscape project or the garden you've been planning. The label on the weed killer matters too, not just because it keeps your property clean but because what runs off ends up downstream, and downstream in this country means somebody else's problem becomes everybody's problem. We're in that part of the year where people are getting ambitious about their land, which is fine and necessary, but it's also the moment to remember that water isn't just a resource—it's the thing that holds this whole place together, from the geothermal wells that built this town to the ranches that built the county. Read the label. Check your sources. Know what you're using and where it goes.
