Ty's Take
The courts don't usually make the news for trying to meet people halfway, but that's what's happening with this new HelpLine coming out of the judiciary system. Anybody who's spent time in a courtroom, or worse, trying to figure out what a courtroom actually wants from them, knows the system isn't built for plain talk. Up here, we've got people who've held onto land through centuries of paper and law, and people who came here yesterday and bought something sight unseen, and people just trying to sort out custody or debts or what they actually owe. A number people can call when they're lost in the legal machinery beats another closed door. Whether it works depends on whether anybody actually staffs it and listens.
