Ty's Take
The water's been running low on the Chama most of the summer, but word is the fishing's picking up down south where they've had better runoff, and that's the kind of thing that gets people thinking about their own stretches up here. Meanwhile we're dealing with the harder stuff, the kind of news that reminds you this country isn't all high desert light and studio openings. A woman from Chama, a domestic situation gone wrong, a man facing charges. These aren't stories you want to see in your local paper, but they're the ones that matter most because they're about your neighbors. The arts students heading down to the Lensic, the summer programs, the tourist season that keeps a few dollars moving through Bode's and the cafes, those things hold the valley together too.
